The House and Senate schedules below are adopted from the schedules published by the House and by the Senate. In the House, a “House Recess” is also called a “district work period,” when House members return to their home districts to meet with constituents. In the Senate, these home state visits are called “state work periods” and take place during “Senate recess.”

For federal holidays, see OPM.
